Brief biography

Qualified from Welsh National School of Medicine and had initial paediatric experience at Llandough Hospital, Cardiff, The Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Bristol and Great Ormond Street Hospital, London. Subspecialty training in paediatric nephrology took place at The Children’s Hospital, Birmingham and the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. Appointed as consultant in paediatric nephrology at Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle upon Tyne in 1996. Returned to Manchester as consultant paediatric nephrologist in 2003.

Extensive postgraduate and undergraduate teaching portfolio including Project Option supervision, PBL tutor and firm leader.

Research interests include antenatal hydronephrosis and the management of nephrotic syndrome.

Member of BAPN, Renal Association, ESPN, IPNA, RCPCH and BMA.
