Brief biography

Julie graduated from the University of York and went on to do a PG Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics in Leeds.
She has worked within the paediatric nephrology team at RMCH since 1987. Julie co-ordinates and provides the nutritional care and dietary intervention for infants and children with CKD together with liasing with community contacts.

Julie has been involved in a review of multi-professional paediatric nephrology services in the UK (BAPN) together with work-force planning for dietitians working within paediatric nephrology.

Julie has written the Kidney section in Clinical Paediatric Dietetics (3rd edition) ed. V. Shaw, M. Lawson (2007) and has revised this chapter for the 4th edition due out in 2013.

Julie manages the Special Feeds Unit and has written guidelines for the safe preparation of feeds in health care settings.

Julie participates in the training of dietetic students.

She is a member of the BDA and PRING.
